Steal of the Week: Alaska from $47/Night

June 5, 2014 | By | No Comments

Everyone is looking for the deal of the century. So how do you choose the one that’s right for you? Check the Lido Deck each week to get the scoop on our favorite deals — then grab the phone and pack your bags.
THE DEAL: is offering a seven-night Alaska cruise onboard Crown Princess, sailing from Whittier to Vancouver on June 14, 2014. Prices start from $329 per person, for an inside cabin.
WHAT WE LOVE: Take advantage of super-low rates all the way to Alaska with this cheap sailing from As a last-minute sailing, cruise from just $47 per person per night, or slightly more — $54 per person per night — for a cabin with a view. Catch all the major ports in just a week — Whittier, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan — with Hubbard Glacier scenic sailing included. Princess ships are well accustomed to Alaska sailing and Crown Princess offers many choices of dining and dining styles to go with it. June is during peak season for Alaska, so expect flowers to be in bloom and weather to be mild to warm.
WHAT GIVES US PAUSE: As with any last-minute cruise, there’s a quick turnaround from booking to sailing (in this case, just over a week). If you have the time, why not pounce on a top destination when it’s on offer for so little? Summer officially begins the day you arrive back in port, so the ship may be split with those already off for the season and looking for a budget-friendly vacation. Only other caveat is flights — this sailing requires a one-way to Alaska and a one-way back from Canada. Compare flight prices with our sister site TripAdvisor’s meta-search tool.
