Steal of the Week: W. Caribbean Balcony from $94/Night

May 29, 2014 | By | No Comments

Everyone is looking for the deal of the century. So how do you choose the one that’s right for you? Check the Lido Deck each week to get the scoop on our favorite deals — then grab the phone and pack your bags.
THE DEAL: Carnival Cruise Lines is offering a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise onboard Carnival Glory, sailing roundtrip from Miami on June 21, 2014. Prices start from $429 per person, for an inside cabin. Balconies run from just $659 per person.
WHAT WE LOVE: Not just the inside cabins are cheap on this cruise — sail from just $61 per person per night, or soak up your views of Cozumel, Belize and Costa Maya from your balcony for just $94 per person per night. Departing on the first day of summer, this sailing offers a week in the Caribbean sun to kickstart the season. Glory embodies a rainbow theme, and there is a colorful range of things to do onboard, including more than 20 bars and late-night venues. Outfitted with Fun Ship amenities, this ship is great for couples and families alike. Miami is a lively port city for pre- or post-cruise stays.
WHAT GIVES US PAUSE: A last-minute deal, this cruise sails in less than a month. If you can arrange to be onboard, keep in mind that it’s the beginning of hurricane season and there’s always the possibility of a storm brewing in Caribbean waters. If you’re flexible and want a classic Carnival experience, this is a great chance to cruise for less than the nightly price of a hotel, with loads more to see and do. Ports include Mahogany Bay, two stops in Mexico and Belize.
