Steal of the Week: 23-Night Med Cruise + Air & Hotel from $2,699

March 27, 2014 | By | No Comments

Everyone is looking for the deal of the century. So how do you choose the one that’s right for you? Check the Lido Deck each week to get the scoop on our favorite deals — then grab the phone and pack your bags.
THE DEAL: Online Vacation Center is offering a 23-night Mediterranean cruise onboard Norwegian Jade, sailing roundtrip from Rome on November 12, 2014. Prices start from $2,699 per person for an inside cabin and include airfare and a two-night pre-cruise hotel stay.

WHAT WE LOVE: The variety of port calls on this itinerary allow first-timers to experience many major cities in one cruise, and repeat cruisers to return to the highlights of Europe. From $113 per person, per night, your fare included airfare to Rome, and a two-night hotel stay allows you to relax and soak up the Italian capital before boarding your ship. Cabin upgrades are also a reasonable splurge with an outside from $2,899 and a balcony from $3,449. Transfers are included.
WHAT GIVES US PAUSE: November is rainy season and temperatures in the Mediterranean may be cooler and damp. If a bit of layering is all you have to do for this discounted package to Athens, Istanbul, Florence, Provence, Barcelona and many more, then I’d say it’s not such a bad break. Note that Thanksgiving will be during this cruise (November 27, 2014) so if you’re not looking to be away for the holiday, then this sailing won’t fly.
