A Taste of Classic Miami on Getaway

February 25, 2014 | By | No Comments

While Cruise Critic editors welcomed Norwegian Getaway prior to and upon its arrival in Miami, member Uncle Bernie also was there, getting a taste of the line’s newest ship. Although it was only a one-night sailing, he made the most of his time at the vibrant christening celebration, where he had 12 hours to explore the ship.

Contrary to its New York-inspired sister ship, Norwegian Breakaway, Getaway reflects South Florida’s finest with a Miami flair.
Uncle Bernie found everything from the decor and food to the onboard activities and entertainment thoroughly enjoyable. He was particularly keen on the Tropicana dining room, where he dined to the tunes of a Latin band while immersed in the glitz and glam of a restaurant inspired by the 1940s. ┬áBut perhaps the highlight of his experience was the Legally Blonde production show — in his words, a “not-to-be-missed event.” Read Uncle Bernie’s full review for his detailed take on the ship.
For their efforts, ScubaCruiser54 and four other Reviewers of the Week — pbnjrockette, kuncelk, Tailwind1, and fltam — receive Cruise Critic logo items.
