It’s okay to splurge once in a blue moon, as long as you plan wisely. Member MrsB05 and her husband had been making arrangements up to a year and a half in advance to celebrate her milestone birthday on Serenade of the Seas.
A luxurious two-night retreat in New Orleans’ French Quarter prior to disembarkation made for a lovely pre-cruise present, as well as an ice breaker for new friends from their Cruise Critic roll call.
Once onboard, the celebrations commenced. The couple booked a grand suite, tucked away on the aft of the ship. Although the amenities were enjoyable, its unique location had a downside: Lots of noise from the buffet above, both before sunrise and during the morning rush. But the experience gave her this tip for other members: If you’re a morning person, this suite wouldn’t bother you.
The two also had reservations at the Chef’s Table — a once (or twice) in a lifetime experience worth the fee. Despite a few quirks here and there, life onboard was enjoyable “because that is how we roll,” she said.
Member MrsB05 and her husband left with wonderful memories, valuable tips for the future and one step closer toward Diamond status with the line’s loyalty program.
