Love reading the Cruise Critic boards? So do we! Every other Friday, we end the week on the Lido Deck by selecting a few forum threads that have made us laugh, cry or argue the finer points of cruising.
We Know It When We See It: What constitutes “good service” anyway? That’s the debate started by member summersigh on the Holland America board. Opinions range widely, as you might expect, but my favorite answer came from whogo, which included the following: “The dining room staff should be well groomed and move with a bit of grace. They should seat guests promptly and present menus immediately. Drink orders should be taken and filled promptly. Bread and butter should be offered soon.” Read more.
Baggies to Spare: We here at Cruise Critic are firm believers in carrying extra ziplock bags; I use them for receipts, currency, and snacks, among other things. And now, after reading this thread started by member caribophile on the Norwegian forum, I have even more ideas. Check them out, or add your own.
Talking ‘Bout the Generations: Every age cohort seems to think that they own the patent on manners – and that the other generations don’t measure up. On the Princess boards, member Patto1000 believes that the fault lies with the elders, who he claimed pushed and shoved their way around a Sun Princess cruise. Others strongly disagree. Join the fray.
