Hot on the Forums: Wine Stewards, Squabbling Couples and Going Nuclear

Hot on the Forums
Love reading the Cruise Critic boards? So do we! Every so often, we end the week on the Lido Deck by selecting a few forum threads that have made us laugh, cry or argue the finer points of cruising. Here are a few topics that caught our attention:
Bye, Bye, Wine Guy? Member whogo is tired of wine stewards who either ignore your needs or take too long to pour the goods. His idea: Guests could select their own bottle of wine when they enter the dining room, which the steward would bring with him to the table when he seats you. You could then help yourself if the bottle was screw-top, or use a self-service cork screw attached to the ice bucket. Sound good to you? Join the conversation on the Holland America board.
Power for the People. Would we ever see a day where cruise ships are run by nuclear power? There’s a hot debate, started by member pbfp2008 on the Carnival message boards, along with some clever possible ship names (anyone willing to board the Glow?)

Couples counseling It’s never fun to think about the “what ifs.” But if your sailing companions are on turbulent waters, what options do you have to salvage your vacation? It’s a reasonable question, asked by albether7 on the Royal Caribbean message board. Luckily, the consensus seems to be that passenger substitutions can be made, depending on how far away the cruise is.
