Where in the World is Cruise Critic?

Celebrity Summit

Cruise Critic staffers set sail every week, traveling the globe to bring you the latest cruise ship trends, port sneak peeks and onboard observations. Here’s where we are this week.
(Got questions about any of the ships we’re boarding? Ask us in the comments!)
Ship: Celebrity Summit
Where: Seven nights out of San Juan, including St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Maarten, Barbados and St. Thomas
Who: Colleen McDaniel, Managing Editor
Why Onboard? Information gathering for a feature on shore excursions
We Can’t Wait: I’ve sailed on two ships in Celebrity’s much-heralded Solstice Class (Equinox and Reflection), but I’ve never cruised any of the line’s Millennium Class vessels. Our members give these ships such great reviews, I’m excited to see what everyone loves so much. I’m also interested in seeing how Celebrity integrated its Solstice Class features, including the Martini Bar and Qsine, into Summit.

I’d like to know how the Celebrity Summit is holding up. I’ve been reading mixed reviews, not on the service, but on the condition of the ship. Thanks.

I have been cruising now since the late 80’s. I’m 64 yrs of age, retired and living in Queensland, Australia. As you know, the market here is expanding, however, very little news comes our way in regard to Cruise Specials. I normally travel with Princess, however with many other cruise ships coming our way, the options are increasing. Why is it, we get very few super specials from any of the cruise lines down here. I would appreciate you reply and advice. Many thanks, Garry.
