Steal of the Week: Free Shore Excursions on Azamara Med Cruises

November 14, 2013 | By | No Comments

Everyone is looking for the deal of the century. So how do you choose the one that’s right for you? Check the Lido Deck each week to get the scoop on our favorite deals — then grab the phone and pack your bags.
THE DEAL: Azamara Club Cruises is offering free shore excursions for each port of call on your 2014 Mediterranean cruise, when you book from select itineraries by December 15. Added bonuses include prepaid gratuities, drinks and shuttles.

WHAT WE LOVE: Azamara was recently voted Best Cruise Line for Value by our editors for a reason: Their cruises include added perks such as their AzAmazing Evening program (chance to explore ports by night) and include bonuses such as tips and drinks — from soda to scotch. This offer only increases the value of your seven-night Tuscany and the French Riviera sailing, or your Greek Isles and Turkish Coast cruise — tours are included in each port of call, and the choice is yours. Book a Mediterranean cruise vacation next year, and choose one of Azamara’s offered excursions for each port you’re sailing to. Itineraries and sailing dates cover a wide selection, and each one sounds more appetizing than the next. Residents of the U.S. and Canada have until December 15 to book, but international residents are also listed (which is quite rare) as eligible to book. Residents of the U.K. or Republic of Ireland are able to book until January 31, 2014.
WHAT GIVES US PAUSE: Value doesn’t always mean cheap, so be aware that the average price for one of Azamara’s Mediterranean cruises is in the $2,000 to $3,000 range for a seven-night sailing, per person. It requires more budgeting than a comparable itinerary on another major line, but you’re paying for a luxury lite experience, meaning more inclusions and less onboard charges.
