What’s the best cure for stress? Some turn to the candle-lit bubble bath, coupled with a glass of wine for temporary relief. For others, it’s retail therapy. But member lorihelms‘s antidote was four days spent on Golden Princess.
After a few strenuous weeks at work, she and her husband snagged a last-minute deal to unwind while sailing to Catalina Island and Ensenada.

Their worries immediately washed away. And after chatting with crewmembers at the martini bar, they even felt a bit silly about their motive to get away. Lorihelms adds, “If you ever thought you work hard, talk to the crew on the ship, and ask them about their work! You’ll feel like a slacker.”
Keeping it relaxed, they dined in the buffet most nights and stuck to entertainment like movies on the big screen and mini-golf. Views of Ensenada were enjoyed from the ship, while a casual stroll through Catalina Island rewarded them with a glimpse of brightly colored fish and sea lions along the water’s edge.
Not only did their short cruise allow them to rejuvenate, but it also gave them a reason to want to go back for more. Read lorihelms’ full review to find out the highlight of his cruise.
For their efforts, lorihelms and four other Reviewers of the Week — JennSTX, gator489, Cubechick and wannaGoNorth — receive Cruise Critic logo items.
