Steal of the Week: Get Back 100% of Your Cruise Fare

October 17, 2013 | By | 1 Comment

Everyone is looking for the deal of the century. So how do you choose the one that’s right for you? Check the Lido Deck each week to get the scoop on our favorite deals — then grab the phone and pack your bags.
THE DEAL: Princess Cruises is offering a full cruise fare refund, in the form of future cruise credit, on select sailings when you book by October 31.

WHAT WE LOVE: In an offer that’s pretty darn close to cruising for free, Princess is providing a 100 percent refund, in the form of future cruise credit (FCC), on three West Coast short sailings. Already priced in the range from $250 to $384 per person, you won’t have to shell out a lot up front to qualify for this rare return on investment. Also, each of the three applicable itineraries offers multiple ships and cruises, so you’re not roped into one definitive sailing date or vessel.
WHAT GIVES US PAUSE: Although you are getting back the amount you paid for your first cruise, don’t expect another short sailing or your second cruise for free. The FCC is only applicable on sailings of seven days or more, meaning that while it will definitely be discounted, you’re still required to commit to a longer (and more expensive) sailing. If you are both prepared to book a West Coast cruise and a weeklong future cruise, then be sure to do so by the end of October: This offer is for a limited time only.

We booked a minimum cat. mini-suite and got bumped up to the top cat. of mini-suites. Also, veterans get a $50 credit and if you own at least 100 shares of Carnival stock you get another $50 credit. Hard to beat if you live in the L.A. area
