A New Place to Call Home?

October 8, 2013 | By | No Comments

Tennessee natives gsully and his wife found their true calling more than 7,000 nautical miles away from home, in a place they knew little of until their New Zealand/Australia cruise aboard Celebrity Solstice.
Everything about his cruise left him wanting just as much more. The two opted to spend a few nights in Auckland before sailaway, which not only allowed them to explore the coast’s rainforests and beaches, but also rewarded them with a priceless view of the ship making its way into the harbor.

Dinners, mostly booked in advance, and the service aboard Solstice were incomparable. But the highlights of their cruise – which were organized by Celebrity — took place off the ship.
The Rotorua Thermal Outing and Blue Baths Tea in Tauranga, unexpected sunshine in Milford Sound that casted a mystical glow over the scenery and Akaroa and Melbourne – both places where gsully could see living someday –  were easy favorites. In his 70 years, gsully believes  New Zealand is the most beautiful country he’s ever seen, and it – along with Australia – should be traveled at least once in a lifetime. Until his next visit, he and his wife might start saving for a down payment. Read gsully’s full review to explore their adventures after the cruise.
For their efforts, gsully and four other Reviewers of the Week — Annasgramma, EndersMom2, kidfixer and stewpapa — receive Cruise Critic logo items.
