As a Diamond member with Royal Caribbean International, seasoned cruiser galavant3 decided to reap the benefits of other brands by giving Celebrity Cruises a try. Since it’s owned by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, galavant3 instantly acquired Elite status on the first sailing aboard Celebrity Summit.
Unfamiliar with the Aqua Class cabins, galavant3 booked one on a whim and was instantly hooked when he found waiting a bottle of chilled sparkling wine, fresh fruit and flowers. Despite the late booking, their cabin was conveniently located just a few steps away from the outside deck and Sunset Bar.
The cruise favorite easily became Blu. Adorned with beautiful decorations, Blu’s intimate setting offered water views from every table. Between breakfast, dinner and casual smoothies, the food and service never disappointed.
Mazy, the maitre d’, gave even more of a reason to come back. His polished, yet humorous demeanor was addicting, and his memory was something out of the ordinary. Galavant3 adds, “He made a huge impression on us, and after 16 cruises, that’s not an easy thing to do.”
In Bermuda, biking along the pier allowed galavant3 to escape the crowds and explore the island in at a refreshing pace. And on the last night, lounging at a local bar and grill became the perfect way to become immersed in the local culture. For their efforts, galavant3 and four other Reviewers of the Week — luigipasta, DSJ6377, dkbrig and sunluva7 — receive Cruise Critic logo items.
