Steal of the Week: 10-Night Canada/New England Cruise from $599

August 15, 2013 | By | No Comments

Everyone is looking for the deal of the century. So how do you choose the one that’s right for you? Check the Lido Deck each week to get the scoop on our favorite deals — then grab the phone and pack your bags.
THE DEAL: CruisesOnly is offering a 10-night Canada/New England cruise onboard Holland America’s Eurodam, sailing from New York to Quebec City on September 12, 2013. Prices start from $599 per person for an inside cabin. Earn up to $300 in onboard credit, depending on your cabin class.

WHAT WE LOVE: At a 74 percent reduction over brochure rates, $599 for a 10-night sailing is a great per-night value. From $60 per person, per night, kick off autumn with this cruise calling on Boston; Bar Harbor; Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia; Prince Edward Island (of Anne of Green Gables fame); with an overnight in Quebec City. Mid-September is still warm enough on sunny days to bask in the fall air, and perfect jacket weather. The East Coast truly shines during fall, with changing leaves, plenty of activities, and delicious seasonal food to spare. There will be plenty to keep you entertained over 10 relaxing nights onboard: Eurodam offers a deluxe Culinary Arts Center, Las Vegas-style revue, and more dining venues than any other ship in the fleet, including Tamarind, Holland America’s renowned Asian restaurant.
WHAT GIVES US PAUSE: Less than a month out, this booking is a bit last-minute. With onboard credit based upon cabin class, there probably won’t be much in the way of a bonus with an inside cabin.  If you’re a stickler for added amenities, this deal relies more upon savings than value added. While port cities will be enjoyable, be sure to note that this sailing isn’t considered a fall foliage cruise. Peak season for leaf peeping is October, so there may still be more green on those trees than reds or oranges.
