Splurging means different things to different people. Some of us put our extra cash toward fancy upgrades, while others think booking the cruise itself is an indulgence. Either way, you can’t avoid the cruise bug when it bites. And although you don’t need hydrocortisone for this one, you still need to be wary of infectious budget blunders that can creep up, even before you start planning.
From cashing in points earned with your cruise line credit card to landing last-minute deals, we’ve offered a number of tips on how to save money for a cruise (We’re always looking for new ways to help you stretch your dollar.) In our latest poll, we wanted to see how you saved your money – or whether you threw caution (and dollars) to the wind.
What we asked: How do you save money for a cruise?
What they said: To our surprise, more than half (55.87 percent) of our poll-takers ditch the piggy banks and splurge. Others take advantage in different ways, such as cashing in loose change, redeeming travel rewards and skillfully procrastinating for last-minute deals. Truth is, saving up for a cruise is easier than you may think.
