Cruise Quebec City

A cruise from Nova Scotia to New England seemed like the perfect itinerary, and with a price tag to back it up, member dawnster1014 met Holland America for the first time. She and her husband spent a night in Old Montreal before setting out to sea onboard Maasdam. With a day to explore by foot, they enjoyed dining at an outdoor cafe to the sounds of a street band, a quaint carriage ride and visit to the old cathedral in which Celine Dion was married. Dawnster1014’s words of advice: “If you go to Montreal, take a day or two to explore the old part of the city.”

Onboard, the laid-back vibe they predicted had its pros and cons. Slow-paced service interrupted dinners in the main dining room but  having the hot tub practically to themselves made up for it.
Like Montreal, Halifax was a favorite on the port-of-call agenda. And Bar Harbor, Maine — where the Acadia National Park and Lobster Bake proved to be well worth the money — was just as memorable. Read dawnster1014’s full review for details on her culinary escapades after leaving the main dining room.
For their efforts, dawnster1014 and four other Reviewers of the Week — gometros, kcellup, Dawnie22 and Shelpaint — receive Cruise Critic logo items.
