Steal of the Week: 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise + Hotel from $449

June 27, 2013 | By | No Comments

Everyone is looking for the deal of the century. So how do you choose the one that’s right for you? Check the Lido Deck each week to get the scoop on our favorite deals — then grab the phone and pack your bags.
THE DEAL: iCruise.com is offering a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise onboard Norwegian Jewel, sailing roundtrip from New Orleans on December 14, 2013. Prices start from $449, per person, for an inside cabin. One night pre-cruise hotel is included in the price, along with a booklet worth $300 in onboard savings.

WHAT WE LOVE: New Orleans is a tremendous city, and you’ll have at least one night to soak it all in before your Caribbean cruise with an included hotel stay. Don’t want to book a flight? Roadtrip it to Louisiana — parking is free and included with your hotel stay. From $64 per person, per night, recline on the beaches of Cozumel or Costa Maya while in port, and experience all that bustling Jewel has to offer at sea for its fans of Freestyle cruising.
WHAT GIVES US PAUSE: Just one week before the holidays and set in mid-December when many are looking to escape frigid temperatures, this sailing might be a packed one. While Jewel is outfitted to handle the masses (an electronic reservation system for restaurants, many venues to spread out the crowds), it might  prove overwhelming for those looking for a quiet Caribbean getaway.
HOW TO BOOK IT: For all the nitty-gritty on this deal (including that pesky fine print), click here. Compare flight prices with our sister site TripAdvisor’s meta-search tool.
