From the Ship to the Trails

Cruise Road to Hana Hawaii
If Hawaii were a flavor, it would probably taste something like a medley of tropical fruit, rich coffee and rain-kissed honeysuckles. From trekking down the Road to Hana to a helicopter ride over the famous scene of Jurassic Park, member puddles99 and her husband’s cruise to the islands allowed them to digest every piece of their itinerary aboard Norwegian’s Pride of America.
Kicking off the cruise with a successful Meet and Greet that eventually morphed into a pub crawl with fellow Cruise Critic passengers, the couple were amped for the adventures to come.
Gray skies early on played no negative role in the outcome of their time spent off the ship. After a pleasantly exhausting hike down the famed Road to Hana and snorkeling the Molokini Crater, an afternoon massage relaxed their muscles for the excursions to come.
Kona brought another memorable snorkeling experience, along with a tasty detour to the brewing company for a five-beer sampler and some authentic island grub. Their adrenaline high seemed to eat up the days too quickly, so two days spent in Kauai zip-lining and flying over Manawaiopuna “Jurassic” Falls couldn’t have made for a better ending.
Stretching out the day as long as they could with an 11 p.m. flight home, puddles99 and her husband spent their final goodbyes uncovering a few more hidden gems.
