Satisfied on Pride: Chronicles of a First-Time Cruiser

Call it beginner’s luck, but first-time cruiser Darcy00 and her husband’s quick and painless embarkation process was only the first of many pleasant experiences aboard Carnival Pride. Thirty minutes after arriving at the port, she was already onboard and in vacation mode enjoying a juicy Reuben.

The couple’s mission for a quiet, peaceful getaway was accomplished through comfortable accommodations and the adults-only Serenity Deck, which zoned out overbearing noise from the lido deck. Zen had been found. And, the relaxed state of mind continued with superb food and service. Normandie Restaurant was the place to be for breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea, not to mention picking up tips from veteran cruisers.
On top of a positive dining experience, the staff’s attentiveness — minus some miscommunication about poor weather — was off the charts. They felt at home with Carnival’s friendly, personal touches and the fact they were acknowledged on a first-name basis.
When it came to spicing up their daily routine, they didn’t have to put in much effort. There were different activities around every corner — one even ending with Darcy00’s husband on stage, belting out some tunes with the band.
As a new cruiser, Darcy00’s first taste aboard Carnival Pride left her wanting more.

For their efforts, Darcy00 and four other Reviewers of the Week — jla418, joaniet, Larbo03 and mad06028 — receive Cruise Critic logo items.

Did a 9 day cruise aboard the Explorer of the Seas and found the trip quite pleasant and memorable. Read some bad stuff about it before we left but found most of it to be misguided. Was only our second Royal experience but found it to be as good as our first. Have no problem with taking a third…. Happy Sails Everyone….
