Gluten-Free Bliss Onboard Ruby Princess

Romantic Dinner

New Orleans Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees and “The View” co-host Elisabeth Hassebeck are part of the growing gluten-free population, which seems to be gaining more dining options on land but hardly any at sea. Well aware of past troubles associated with finding a cruise that accommodates his wife’s special diet, creampea contacted the staff on Ruby Princess ahead of the couple’s cruise in hopes of eating something other than fruits and vegetables. But just to be safe, they brought some food onboard.

When the couple reached their cabin, they found a letter from Princess addressing the dietary restrictions and assuring them not to worry. Sure enough, after meeting with the headwaiter, the couple were problem-free for the rest of their journey. Creampea was happy they could finally enjoy dinner together — and with more options for his wife than at their own home. The staff even provided menus for the following nights so the kitchen could prepare ahead of time.
Excursions hadn’t been planned because the ones that were offered didn’t sound appealing, but creampea decided they weren’t needed. The service on Ruby Princess was enough to satisfy them for their entire cruise.

Celebrity Cruises also provide Vegetarian,Gluten,Lactose & Sugar free options.
The Maitre’D and all the waiters couldn’t have been more helpful to me and even made sure that my Lactose Free selection was transferred to the Captain’s Table, when we dined there on the 2nd Formal night!
A special desert was created every night , especially for me. Thank you.
