Steal of the Week: New England/Canada: $55/Night

May 2, 2013 | By | No Comments

Everyone is looking for the deal of the century. So how do you choose the one that’s right for you? Check the Lido Deck each week to get the scoop on our favorite deals — then grab the phone and pack your bags.
THE DEAL: Carnival Cruise Lines is offering a seven-night Canada and New England cruise onboard Carnival Glory, sailing roundtrip from Boston on June 9, 2013. Prices start from $379, per person, for an inside cabin.

WHAT WE LOVE: If you’re tired of the Caribbean but still crave that low-cost week at sea, this American itinerary delivers with plenty of ports and two full sea days, from $55 per night. The Carnival Glory was refurbished in 2012, giving it all of the trendy eateries and experiences you could expect on a newer Carnival ship (Guy’s Burger Joint, Punchliner Comedy Brunch). Family staterooms, kids’ activity clubs and Fountain Fun cards offering unlimited soft drinks, make bringing the family a breeze.
WHAT GIVES US PAUSE: While many consider June the start of summer, early June (especially northbound) might still be jacket weather, with average highs only touching the 70’s. Contrasted with the quiet-little-harbor-town itinerary, be prepared for Carnival’s signature Fun Ship fest onboard. If a lively nightlife and seemingly endless options for restaurants and amusements don’t overwhelm you, then nothing to worry about.
