Steal of the Week: Cruise the Western Caribbean From $71 Per Night

April 4, 2013 | By | No Comments

Everyone is looking for the deal of the century. So how do you choose the one that’s right for you? Check the Lido Deck each week to get the scoop on our favorite deals — then grab the phone and pack your bags.
THE DEAL: iCruise.com is offering a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise onboard Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas, sailing roundtrip from New Orleans on January 17, 2014. Prices start from $499 per person for an inside cabin and $729 for a balcony.

WHAT WE LOVE: Book your Caribbean escape months in advance, and you’ll find fares from $71 a night for an inside cabin or $104 per night for a balcony cabin. What makes the offer great is all the inclusions: a pre-cruise hotel stay in the Big Easy (New Orleans), free parking for your vehicle for the length of the cruise (at the pre-cruise hotel), transfer from the hotel to pier on embarkation day and even a booklet of coupons compliments of the New Orleans Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
WHAT GIVES US PAUSE: This cruise departs in January 2014, so you need to be willing to commit to a winter vacation early to lock in the best rates. We recommend buying travel insurance in case your situation changes or the cruise line tweaks the itinerary or even charters the ship after you’ve booked and made travel arrangements.
HOW TO BOOK IT: For all the nitty-gritty on this deal (including that pesky fine print), click here. You can compare flight prices with our sister site TripAdvisor’s meta-search tool.
