Video: Norwegian Breakaway Cruise Ship Floats Out

The “Countdown to Project Breakaway” is on, as you’ll see from the video above.
Meyer-Werft, the shipyard where Norwegian Breakaway is being built, released this video from yesterday’s float-out of the ship, the first of two to be built in Norwegian’s Breakaway class.
The 146,600-ton, 4,028-passenger Norwegian Breakaway will launch in April 2013 in Europe, and the ship will be officially christened by the Rockettes in New York City on May 8. Sister ship Norwegian Getaway will debut in April 2014.
According to the line, the Project Breakaway pair will represent a blend of the best of the Jewel-class series and Norwegian Epic, NCL’s one-and-only Epic-class vessel. Two things that won’t be back from the 155,873-ton, 4,100-passenger Epic, which launched in June 2010, are the controversial see-through bathrooms in cabins and the “hat,” the top-ship protrusion housing the Haven suite complex that gives Epic is unforgettable look.
The line has already revealed information on cabins, suites, sun deck amenities, spa, itineraries, lounges, dining and entertainment.
