Steal of the Week: Cruise the Western Caribbean From $74 Per Night

January 24, 2013 | By | No Comments

Everyone is looking for the deal of the century. So how do you choose the one that’s right for you? Check the Lido Deck each week to get the scoop on our favorite deals — then grab the phone and pack your bags.
THE DEAL: iCruise.com is offering a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise on Norwegian Star, sailing roundtrip from New Orleans on March 2, 2013. Prices start from $519 per person for an inside cabin.

WHAT WE LOVE: From less than $75 per night, you can sail to Costa Maya, Belize City, Roatan and Cozumel, with a one-night pre-cruise hotel stay in New Orleans. The price also includes free parking for the duration of the cruise, transfers and a coupon book offering more than $300 in onboard savings. Upgrade to a suite for less than double the price of an inside cabin ($143 per night).
WHAT GIVES US PAUSE: This cruise departs in less than six weeks, so you’ll need to start planning soon. It also means that the best cabins in each category might be sold out, leaving you little choice in your stateroom location. Norwegian Star is one of the line’s oldest ships, but it still offers multiple dining and drinking venues, waterslides and kids’ areas.
HOW TO BOOK IT: For all the nitty-gritty on this deal (including that pesky fine print), click here. To see how much flights will add to your vacation cost, compare flight prices with our sister site TripAdvisor’s meta-search tool.
