Steal of the Week: Cruise the Bahamas From $33 Per Night

December 6, 2012 | By | 1 Comment

Everyone is looking for the deal of the century. So how do you choose the one that’s right for you? Check the Lido Deck each week to get the scoop on our favorite deals — then grab the phone and pack your bags.
THE DEAL: Cruise.com is offering a three-night Bahamas cruise aboard Norwegian Sky, sailing roundtrip from Miami on January 11, 2013. Fares start at $99 per person for an inside cabin.

WHAT WE LOVE: Need a vacation that does not take you over a personal fiscal cliff? If you book soon, you can snag a last-minute Bahamas cruise from the low rate of $33 per person, per night. Even balconies are under $100 a night. As if that weren’t enough of a deal, you could also be eligible for $25 in onboard credit. This cruise could make an excellent holiday gift for your favorite travel companion (and yourself). Skip the pricey end-of-December travel period, and go for bigger savings when you postpone your warm-weather, long weekend getaway to the new year.
WHAT GIVES US PAUSE: It’s hard to find something wrong with a cruise priced as low as this one. If we have to think of a caveat, it’s that Norwegian Sky is one of Norwegian’s oldest and smallest ships, so you’ll find smaller-than-average cabins and not quite as many onboard attractions as the line’s mega-ships. The biggest deals are on inside and outside cabins, which are not the best for those prone to claustrophobia and seasickness.
HOW TO BOOK IT: For all the nitty-gritty on this deal (including that pesky fine print), click here. You can compare flight prices on our sister site TripAdvisor’s meta-search tool.
Looking for cruises for under $75 or even $50 a day? We’ve got dozens listed on our Cheap Cruises page.
