Whether you’re dealing with novice cruisers or seasoned seadogs, there’s one experience all cruisers share: they’ve all got a “my first cruise” memory. So, in the interest of bringing folks together, we wanted to know who accompanied you (or whom you accompanied) on your very first sailing.
What we asked: My first cruise was with ___.
What they said: The majority — 45 percent — of more than 3,600 voters cruised for the first time with a significant other. Another 36 percent went with their family. A further 16 percent took to the seas with friends, and the final 4 percent decided to go it alone.

What it all means: Perhaps there’s some truth to the theory that cruises are romantic — or perhaps these results just mean that cruises are a popular honeymoon choice. Whatever the reason, those who weighed in on Facebook seem to agree.
