Steal of the Week: Cruise the Eastern Caribbean From $57 Per Night

October 18, 2012 | By | No Comments

Everyone is looking for the deal of the century. So how do you choose the one that’s right for you? Check the Lido Deck each week to get the scoop on our favorite deals — then grab the phone and pack your bags.
THE DEAL: American Discount Cruises & Travel is offering a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise onboard Holland America’s Eurodam, sailing roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale on December 8, 2012. Fares start from $399 per person for an inside cabin, $449 for an outside cabin, $599 for a balcony and $999 for a suite.

WHAT WE LOVE: Take your holiday break early, and you can get great deals on cruise fares – like this December Caribbean cruise on one of Holland America’s newer ships from $57 a night. You can even upgrade to a balcony and pay only $86 a night. Plus, you might be eligible for prepaid gratuities and/or onboard credit. The itinerary features four ports – Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Thomas and Half Moon Cay – and two sea days, so you have plenty of time to do some active tours, pick up last-minute holiday gifts in port and still get your fill of sun, sand and sea.
WHAT GIVES US PAUSE: December cruises always present a dilemma: They tend to be quite affordable…but taking vacation before the holidays might preclude you from taking vacation during the holidays, depending on your work schedule and time-off allotment.
