Steal of the Week: Cruise the Western Caribbean from $50 Per Night

August 23, 2012 | By | No Comments

Everyone is looking for the deal of the century. So how do you choose the one that’s right for you? Check the Lido Deck each week to get the scoop on our favorite deals — then grab the phone and pack your bags.
THE DEAL: Cruise.com is offering a four-night Western Caribbean cruise aboard Carnival Imagination, sailing roundtrip from Miami on September 24, 2012. Fares for an inside cabin start from $199 per person.

WHAT WE LOVE: You can sail to Key West and Cozumel for the low price of $50 a night, making this a great deal for a short getaway. You can also take advantage of Cruise.com’s discounted rates on a pre- or post-cruise hotel stay in Miami, and may be eligible for a cabin upgrade. Can’t sail the week of the 24th? Other sail dates in September and October are showing cheap fares for inside and outside cabins.
WHAT GIVES US PAUSE: The travel dates are for the height of hurricane season, so you run the risk of encountering bad weather, rough seas and itinerary changes. We recommend using the money you save on the cruise fare to purchase travel insurance.
HOW TO BOOK IT: For all the nitty-gritty on this deal (including that pesky fine print), click here. If you need to fly to Miami, you can compare flight prices on our sister site TripAdvisor’s meta-search tool.
Looking for cruises for under $75 or even $50 a day? We’ve got dozens listed on our Cheap Cruises page.
