Alaska Cruise: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

July 27, 2012 | By | No Comments

After her southbound Alaska cruise on Island Princess, 21mel was able to put just about everything into three categories. The good included Princess for helping her sister, who missed the cruise because of an airline delay, catch up three days later — even refunding her ship days. Also good: the salmon and the pizza onboard; a kid’s soda card; the entertainment; the expert presentations on Alaska; the balcony’s view; and the cabin’s closet space. Not much was bad, but 21mel would include the dining room’s steak ; the onboard coffee card; the cabin’s comforters and the cabin’s shower. Only two things made 21mel’s ugly list: the lack of notification that a shore excursion has been cancelled, and United Airlines for making her sister miss the beginning of the cruise. Check out her thorough review of Island Princess. For her efforts, 21mel — along with the four other R.O.W., JD in MD, LunaSea101, shorebett and pinma — receives a Cruise Critic insulated sportsbag.
