Baby Onboard: Cruise Ship Inspires Mom-to-Be

We’ve heard of cruise-themed parties, Christmas trees and senior proms, but Cruise Critic member 444cruiser has taken the nautical theme to an extreme with her Disney Dream-inspired baby nursery. She raided Jo-Ann Fabrics, cyber-stalked photographers and repainted furnishings to make a land-locked room feel like a cruise ship. Clever touches include “porthole” mirrors and a nursing pillow re-covered to resemble a life preserver. And, of course, the diaper-changing station is labeled “The Poop Deck.”
When baby Anderson comes into the world, he is well positioned to become the littlest big cruise fan. And he may not have to wait too long to experience the real thing — Disney Cruise Line takes tots as young as three months onboard. For your DIY cruise-themed room inspiration, you can take a video tour of Anderson’s “Captain’s Quarters” or see photos on Cruise Critic’s message boards. That’s an awesome room. Very well done. I like the Buffet sign.
