Is One Really the Loneliest Number on a Cruise?

We’ve done a lot of solo sailing, but for some folks we understand: It can be a daunting proposition. That’s why we’re impressed by reviewer of the week furrygirl‘s willingness to throw caution to the wind — off her booked balcony cabin for two — when her sister bailed on their cruise to Alaska. Despite furrygirl’s apprehension, her solo cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas was her best cruise ever — thanks to the gang of shipmates she met at the first night’s dinner. Sister? What sister? She thoroughly enjoyed her sailing sans sibling and learned plenty about how best to enjoy an Alaska cruise in general. Check out her insightful review on solo cruising. For her efforts, furrygirl — along with the four other R.O.W., PegasusGM, ellbelle, infl and CTCruisers — receives a Cruise Critic insulated sportsbag.
