A Theme Cruise That’s Anything but a Drag

April 17, 2012 | By | 5 Comments

This is one of the more unusual theme cruises that we’ve come across in a while: Men in drag will take over Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas during the Disco Queens on the High Seas cruise September 16 – 22. Shall we start taking wagers now on how many times “I Will Survive” and “It’s Raining Men” will blast from the stereo speakers near the cantilevered hot tubs?
The theme cruise will center on a drag pageant, for which organizers are seeking six contestants who can sashay and saunter their way across a stage in disco-themed eveningwear and swimsuits during a performance competition. The winner, who will be selected by legendary drag pageant mainstay Tommie Ross, will receive $1,000. Heck, that’s enough to buy a dozen Spanx full-body shape-suits.
Four drag queens known throughout the Florida drag circuit — Darcel Stevens, Ginger Minj, Chantel Reshae and Aysia Black — will perform during nightly shows. Other scheduled events include a disco party (with awards for best-dressed guest and best disco dancer), Broadway revues and a celebrity impersonator show.
The roundtrip cruise sails from Port Canaveral, with stops in Falmouth, Jamaica; Grand Cayman; Cozumel and Labadee. Rates start at $1,555 per person, double.

Did somebody say Disco? The Bird Cage will be runnin’ full speed ahead on this cruise. Beautiful women of the world, here’s your chance to have a fun-time cruise without hassling with the standard pick-up lines and old worn out cliches from the single’s scene. This cruise will welcome a fun buncha drag artists and entertainers. Party and hang out with those who will scratch your itch with the right mix of social attitude adjustment during a week’s worth of excitement on the high seas. Only memorable cruises are produced by the experts at MusicInMocean.com. I should know, I’ve been on 3 of them and we keep on talkin’ about how great they all were!

I would love. Love , love to go on this cruise. Love hanging with fun people no matter what their sexual orientation. Plus I could use a few tips on applying makeup and lessons in how to “work it” drag queens are fun, fabulous and flamboyant! It’s going to be a funtabulous trip.

Rudy, having problems? And, yes, how
horrible to be on a fun cruise with someone
      like you.
I’m sure there’s an opening on a Carnival
ship where you may be better suited.
