The Viking Invasion: 6 Riverboats Take Shape

March 21, 2012 | By | No Comments

For Viking River Cruises‘ new 190-passenger Longships, what a difference a day (week, month) makes. Intriguingly, Viking, which will ultimately build a dozen boats on the innovative Longship platform, is in the process of building six at once! During a visit to Amsterdam this week, we’re here to celebrate the launch of the first two riverboats to be finished — Viking Odin and Viking Idun. Their signature feature? The sleek and airy lobby and atrium area, which is the most beautiful we’ve seen on a riverboat.
The boats are nearly all identical, so it’s fun to see the transformation of the dynamic lobby and atrium here, via the completed Odin, the nearly finished Freya and the still-needs-work Njord. Click here to take a tour.
