Gift-o-Rama Day 11: Light as a Feather
December 9, 2011 | By Shayne Rodriguez Thompson | 20 Comments

Welcome to Day 11 of Cruise Critic’s Gift-o-Rama, in which we’ve been unwrapping our 2011 gift picks for the cruisers among us. Better yet: You can actually win some of our choices by simply being a Lido Deck subscriber. For the finale of Gift-o-Rama, we bring you a must for every cruise traveler — luggage. But not just any luggage, we suggest Hideo Design Feather Light luggage, which is not only easy to maneuver, but waterproof and designed to withstand a bit of wear and tear.
Congratulations to waynekastner, who receives a Cruise Critic Swag Pack. For more information on the cool stuff we’ve been profiling daily on our ever-growing gift-guide-in-the-making, click here.
Here’s the 411 on today’s gift-list-ready find:
What it is: Hideo Design Feather Light Luggage ($79 and up) Why we like it: If you cruise at least once a year, it’s probably worth investing in a quality piece of luggage. Hideo Design’s Feather Light line is soft-sided, but because the bags are constructed from water-repellent nylon and reinforced with heavy nylon bands they are durable enough to withstand getting to and from the ship, whether that be by plane, train or automobile. Once you’re in your cabin and unpacked, your bag can easily slide under the bed or be folded up and placed in a drawer. Plus, strategically placed storage pockets maximize available space, so you can travel with as few bags as possible. This luggage is available as a trolley, a duffel or a messenger bag, so you’ll be able to choose just the right one for your packing style.
Where to get it: Check it out here.
The fine print: We’ll be showcasing one gift each day through December 9 and picking a winner of either the gift itself or a Cruise Critic swag pack at random from among all subscribers to the Lido Deck. Congrats to kellyarg, who won the fabulous $189 piece of Hideo Design Feather Light Luggage.
Check here for the rules, and be sure to come back each morning at 10 a.m. EST to see the gift du jour — and to find out if you won the previous day’s giveaway.
You have to be in it to win it: Subscribe to the Lido Deck now.

This is something everyone could use. We travel so much (mostly cruising) that this would be great, especially with my back problems.
