Gift-o-Rama Day 2: It’s in the Bag
November 30, 2011 | By Shayne Rodriguez Thompson | 17 Comments

Welcome to Day 2 of Cruise Critic’s Gift-o-Rama, in which we’ve been unwrapping our 2011 gift picks for the cruisers among us. Better yet: You can actually win some of our choices by simply being a Lido Deck subscriber. Today we have just the thing for your favorite cruising Dionysus, and we’re giving one away: the Vinnibag, a reusable travel bag designed to protect fragile items (yes, that includes wine) against impact and leakage.
What it is: The Vinnibag ($28) Why we like it: Many cruise lines allow passengers to set sail with a bottle of wine in tow (ok, they may be subject to a corkage fee). But a lot can happen between the time you board an airplane to fly to your port of embarkation and when your luggage is delivered to your cabin. We’re thinking busted bottles of booze here, and that’s where the Vinnibag comes in. The Vinnibag suspends your breakables in an inflatable air cushion that conforms to the shape of whatever it’s holding, so that no matter the circumstance it remains safely cocooned in your luggage. It’s even designed to stand up to altitude and temperature fluctuations. And for those who don’t imbibe, it’s perfect for toiletries, gourmet souvenirs and bottles of whatever you’re bringing back on the trip home.
Where to get it: Check it out here.
The fine print: We’ll be showcasing one gift each day through December 9 and picking a winner of either the gift itself or a Cruise Critic swag pack at random from among all subscribers to the Lido Deck. If you’re already a subscriber or you subscribe before 6 p.m. this evening (November 30), you’ll have a chance to win the Vinnibag, today’s offering.
Check here for the rules, and be sure to come back each morning at 10 a.m. EST to see the gift du jour — and to find out if you won the previous day’s giveaway. Congratulations to ctiffin1, who receives yesterday’s gift pick: Liquid Image’s XCS Video Mask, For more information on this item, check out our complete gift-guide-in-the-making here.
You have to be in it to win it: Subscribe to the Lido Deck now.

I have a couple of them and they are great for traveling. Being from an area close to Napa we are always traveling with a couple of bottles of wine. And I do not have to worry about them breaking in my suitcase.

OR you can put bubble wrap around the bottle and double bag it in 2 BIG (leakproof) zip lock freezer bags. Has worked for us a dozen times.
