Happy Hour Special: Celebrity’s Elderflower Blush
November 9, 2011 | By Shayne Rodriguez Thompson | 70 Comments

In true cruise spirit, every evening this week, we’ll be offering up special happy hour recipes for you to imbibe at your leisure. For our third installment, we’re raising the swank level with Celebrity Cruises‘ Elderflower Blush, which is served up in the Molecular Bar onboard the line’s Solstice-class ships. Molecular Bar is all about using innovative techniques and fresh ingredients to create unique cocktails. Elderflower Blush is no exception: This sophisticated concoction combines elderflower liqueur, gin, lemon juice, basil, strawberries and Sprite and is served in a tall, ice-filled pilsner. (Interesting note: Celebrity has dubbed the mixologists at Molecular Bar “liquid chefs,” and they can be found giving demos at least once per sailing.) Be sure to check back tomorrow for a recipe from Holland America.
Now tell us: When’s the best time of the day for a drink? Tell us in the comments below — by November 9 at 6 p.m. EST — for your chance to win a Celebrity cookbook (with drink recipes) and a Cruise Critic T-shirt.

The best time of the day for a drink is when you have just returned from swimming with the stingrays at Grand Cayman and you sit on your personal balcony and soak up the sun while enjoying a Grey Goose Vodka mixed with cranberry juice and a lime twist. Sigh……

I think the best time to drink is whenever I feel in the mood for a drink. There isn’t a schedule when I am on a cruise. I love having the freedom to do whatever I want, whenever I want.

I have never been on a cruise but i wish so much. But the best time for a drink is that day when you are relaxing on board and you say: thank you God for this opportunity for beeing on this cruise ship and having the luck to see so many beauties of the world. In my opinion this should be the best moment to enjoy a good drink, doesn.t matter the time of the day.

November 9th, 2011 @ 5:57 pm
I’m 13 so I can’t answer that question for alcohol but I definitely can for smoothies, soft drinks, etc. You can drink these if the time meats this Criteria:
1: Anytime your thirsty
2: Anytime your tired
3: Anytime your on a cruise
4: Anytime your having fun
5: Anytime your relaxing
6: Anytime your playing sports
7: Anytime your well……. doing anything!!!!!
November 9th, 2011 @ 5:58 pm
The best time of the day for a drink on a cruise ship is late afternoon, when you are sitting back with family and friends relaxing and enjoy the view of the sunset with that gentle breeze blowing, savoring the taste of the special drink you have and talk about the wonderful day you have just had and make plans for tomorrow. As a reward for having so much fun that day, you have to order another drink.
