Happy Hour Special: Carnival’s Bite of the Iguana

In true cruise spirit, every evening this week we’ll be offering up special happy hour recipes from different cruise lines for you to imbibe at your leisure. For our first installment, we have a recipe for Carnival‘s Bite of the Iguana, a featured cocktail at the line’s new Blue Iguana Tequila Bar, which debuted aboard Carnival Liberty in October. Blue Iguana is a product of Carnival’s recently announced Fun Ship 2.0 upgrades and features an assortment of tequila-based cocktails and Mexican beers. Bite of the Iguana is a refreshing combo of tequila, vodka, peach schnapps, orange juice, lemonade and Sprite, served in a generous 16-ounce portion. Bonus: no fancy equipment required — just combine five of the six ingredients with ice, give ‘em a good shake and top with Sprite.

   Since I’ve only travelled on Carnival, my favorite drink that I enjoy on the pool deck is the Carnival Funship. It’s a nice, refreshing drink.

    My favorite drink is a drink that I created on the Carnival to win the Mixology contest. It is OJ, Cranberry, and Pineapple Rum!! YUMMY!

    I made some of the Iguana drink the other day and may make more tomorrow. The first ones strong but the next 2 go down good. You better watch it with this one!

    I would like recipes for all the Blue Iguana Tequlia Bar drinks and the Red Frog Rum Bar just sailed a few weeks ago on the Liberty love it my bartender Luis was the best at the Blue Iguana miss him a lot. Is there a book to be bought or is it a ship only thing? We loved the Twilight Zone too!
