Perhaps it’s the seemingly limitless options or maybe it’s just the sea air, but folks have a tendency to try new things while cruising, particularly when it comes to food. Whether the urge strikes during the planning stages or once you step onboard, it’s nice to know where to look for ideas on what to chow down on during your next sailing. No surprise then that our forums are filled with menus, restaurant reviews and even photos of the scrumptious (or not) dishes they experimented with while cruising.
And every now and then a real Star makes its appearance.
I tend to be attracted to reviews that are sprinkled with lots of close-up images – there’s something about actually seeing what you have to look forward to that makes it all the more exciting. Enter member Ilivetogo, who did a swell job of this after returning from an Alaska cruise aboard Norwegian Star.
After admitting that she’s “not much of a food critic,” she proceeds to break down her post by restaurant, providing shots of each dish. She may not be much of a critic, but she’s a fine chronicler.
This thread is pure eye candy – from a frosty bright red margarita to flaky pastries, each photo is more mouthwatering than the last — and a tasty representation of the variety offered onboard a cruise.
And what response did she get from her fellow cruise-aholics?
Said member Destiniii: “Thank you so much for the food porn. I have been reading all the reviews with a few food pictures, but yours is the best. I got tired of reading about their cruise. I was only interested in what was being served.” Mickeymoocow concurs, “OMG!!! Best post yet on cruise critic!”
