Sandler’s ‘Jack and Jill’: So Far, Not Much Allure
July 19, 2011 | By John Deiner | No Comments
No matter how you feel about the comedy stylings of Adam Sandler (I tend to think he hit his peak when Bob Barker was beating him up in “Happy Gilmore”), you have to take notice when he drags the world’s biggest cruise ship onto the big screen. I was onboard Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas when he was making “Jack and Jill,” a film opening November 11 in which he plays his own twin sister (ack). I remember wires everywhere, reports of his mom roaming the corridors and a near-collision with co-star Katie Holmes at the onboard Starbucks. Now the trailer for the flick has surfaced — and Allure makes its grand (and brief) appearance around 1:38. It all leaves me wondering: What’s Al Pacino doing in this thing?
