Here's a forward shot of Norwegian Epic, still resting in its dry dock. There's been a lot of talk about Norwegian Epic's "hat," the boxy superstructure that seems to have been stacked on top of the bridge (we'll peek inside the hat, which is actually Epic's innovative Courtyard Villa complex, in a moment). There are basically four parts to the top deck: Courtyard Villa complex; pool area with waterslides and aqua park; sports complex; and aft outdoor movie theater/nightclub. In terms of weight distribution, balance and necessity -- the space affords prime real estate to the top flight suites -- the hat fits. There really wasn't much indecision in terms of placement, noted Andy Stuart, NCL's head of global sales and passenger services.
