Look at this bow shot of Oasis of the Seas: interior spaces found within include the main theater (Decks 3, 4 and 5) and the Vitality at Sea spa and fitness area (Decks 5 and 6). What's interesting here is the placement of the spa and fitness center. Most new-builds, including Royal Caribbean' Freedom- and Voyager-class vessels, utilize the real estate at the top of the ship, forward, for gym and spa placement -- think gazing out to sea as you struggle on the treadmill. But Royal Caribbean moved the spa and fitness center down several decks. The prime location at the top of the ship has instead been given to the Solarium, with its bistro, bar and nearby cantilevered whirlpools, all with spectacular ocean views through floor-to-ceiling windows.
