With the economy in the toilet, what better time than now to introduce the "Time-Share Credit Crunch Cruise"? The Virgin Holiday Cruises blog had a bit of a laugh with their story of a leaked report that a cruise ship targeting the "recently financially reduced traveller" was set to launch this summer. Forty percent of the ship, an old classic being secretly renovated, would be owned by the passengers on a time share basis. Themed events recall the hard times of the 40's and 50's, featuring "ration-book luncheons" and "make-do-and-mend afternoon tea." Other cost-cutting measure include replacing midnight buffets with snack vending machines and only heating the swimming pool for "a few hours in the morning to encourage passengers to take a swim rather than have a shower."
