Azamara Club Cruises
The Process: Tips are included in the cruise fare, but additional tipping is at the passengers' discretion.

Alternatives: While it's not encouraged, you can always tip extra in cash.

Extra Charges: Spa gratuities are not included in the voyage fare. And 18 percent gratuity will be added to passengers' onboard folio for spa services.

Crystal Cruises
The Process: Basic gratuities are included in the cruise fare.

Alternatives: While not obligatory, additional gratuities are appreciated. However, they are entirely at the discretion of the individual passenger.

Extra Charges: None

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises
The Process: Basic gratuities are included in the cruise fare.

Alternatives: While not obligatory, additional gratuities are appreciated. However, they are entirely at the discretion of the individual passenger.

Extra Charges: None

Oceania Cruises
The Process: Oceania automatically adds an $12.50 per-day gratuity to each passenger's shipboard account (any age). An additional $4 per guest, per day will be added for guests occupying penthouse, vista or owner's suites where butler service is provided.

Alternatives Guests may adjust gratuities while onboard at their discretion.

Extra Charges: An 18 percent gratuity is added to all bar bills.

Peter Deilmann Cruises (MS Deutschland only)
The Process: Tipping is discretionary, but recommended gratuities aboard Deutschland are $5 per person, per day for the cabin steward and for the waiter, and $3 for the bus boy.

Alternatives: Passengers may tip bar staff directly after service, or they may add a gratuity to their bar bill. Tips may also be charged to your onboard account if you don't want to tip in cash.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises
The Process: Tips are included in the cruise fare, and additional tipping is not expected.

Alternatives: Passengers who wish to give an additional tip can make a donation to the Crew Welfare Fund at the purser's office.

Extra Charges: None

The Yachts of Seabourn
The Process: According to Seabourn, tipping is neither required nor expected aboard their yacht-like ships.

Alternatives: Additional tipping is not expected.

Extra Charges: None

SeaDream Yacht Club
The Process: All tips are included in the cruise fare.

Alternatives: Additional tipping is not expected.

Extra Charges: None

Silversea Cruises
The Process: All tips are included in the cruise fare.

Alternatives: Additional tipping is not expected.

Extra Charges: None

Windstar Cruises
The Process: Windstar has a service charge of $11 per person, per day (including children).

Alternatives: If you wish to express special thanks for excellent service, you may tip directly to individual crewmembers.

Extra Charges: A 15 percent service charge is added to all bar bills.
