Hurtigruten alcohol policy

Are You Legal?

Passengers over the age of 18 are allowed to purchase beer and wine. Spirits are only available to those over 20 years old.

Bringing Booze Onboard

Bringing liquor onboard at embarkation: Passengers on Hurtigruten's coastal voyages are allowed to bring a limited amount of alcohol onboard for consumption in their cabins. Only alcohol purchased onboard may be consumed in public areas. Passengers on MS Fram may only drink alcohol that has been purchased in the ship's restaurants and bars. Alcohol purchased on land must be given to the crew who will store it and return it prior to departure.

Bringing wine or Champagne onboard: Same as above.

Purchasing liquor in port: Same as above.

Purchasing liquor in ships' duty-free shop: There are no duty-free shops on the coastal ships. Alcohol purchased in the shop on MS Fram will be stored by the ship and delivered to passengers before they depart.

Free Drink Caveat

On MS Fram, free bubbly is given to passengers on the first and last nights at the captain's toast.
