Laundry-Services What to pack for a cruise often revolves around how much to bring. How many clothes you bring is usually dictated by how long you're away and how many times you want to rewear that same pair of pants or that one sundress. Luckily, many ships offer laundry services onboard that range from express dry cleaning to self-service launderettes complete with token or change washers. What services your cruise ship offers can be an important part of cruise planning (especially on those longer voyages), but that information can be difficult to track down on your own.

At Cruise Critic, we take our packing seriously, too, so we looked into not only how to get your cruisewear clean but about how much it will cost you. For comparison's sake, we've priced out the cost to launder your average men's dress shirt or women's blouse. Keep in mind that silk and special materials will often cost you more, and prices can -- and often do -- change.

You'll notice that luxury all-inclusive lines tend to provide free laundry services if you choose to DIY. Many upscale lines cruise longer itineraries, including world cruises, so the need to wash and re-use while you're onboard is expected. But even on shorter sailings, after a long, sweaty day covered in foreign sand and sticky ice cream, it could be surprisingly refreshing to have the option of doing something as mundane as a load of laundry on your family's Caribbean cruise.
