The Theme: Smithsonian Journeys' Art Along the Coast of Maine and Art Along the Hudson Cruises

Details: Smithsonian Journeys is hosting two East Coast art-themed sailings on American Star in 2016. From July 29 to August 6, the ship will take art lovers from Maine to Portland, stopping at places like Bar Harbor, Castine and Belfast along the way. Highlights include insights from art expert Janice Simon as well as a walking/bus tour of Acadia National Park, a walking tour of Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and visit to the Portland Museum of Art. Fares start at $4,660 per person, based on double occupancy. The second cruise takes place October 14 to 22. Sailing from New York City roundtrip, the ship will stop at Yonkers, West Point and Hyde Park, Catskill and Kingston, Troy & Albany and Poughkeepsie. Passengers can enjoy a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and private art-themed tours throughout the Hudson Valley alongside expert Jason LaFountain. Fares start at $4,660 per person, based on double occupancy.
