Cabin 3334

Alaska: First Timers on HAL. By: loverlylibrarian
Our cabin steward was very attentive. We rarely saw him but our room was always made up and seemed to be tended to three times if not more each day. Room was clean but I always travel with Windex wipes and do a once over before unpacking. Great storage and was able to completely unpack two large suitcases using the drawers and closets. Loved the extra room in bath because of having a tub. Your elbows didn't bang into walls like they do in the small ship shower stalls. Was nice for my larger 6ft tall husband. Bed was extremely comfortable and cabin 3334 is ideally located four steps away from the walking and lounging deck which we loved! We walked 2-3 miles each day for exercise. It was 3.5 laps per mile. The large room window looked out onto the walking deck but we could easily see the water and saw a whale tale one morning about 50 yards out. The windows were tinted and you could see out but not in. Being in this room was close to a short stairway to the 4th floor main office and excursion desk as well as the photo gallery. When my room. Key stopped working (twice) it was just a quick hop up one floor to have it sensitized again. (I had been holding the room keycard near the magnet band on my clutch purse). If I took this ship again, I'd ask for this same room.

MS Amsterdam Alaska Cruise By: Bitterrooters
We were quite pleased with our room. It was very spacious and had plenty of storage. The bathtub was a nice option It was very quite location with great views. Elevators were very fast so it did not take long to move around the ship, even being on first floor.

Cabin 1878

Cabin 1878. Too much closet space in a narrow corridor with bathroom. Low light level in that space that made it difficult to see inside the safe. Because of the restrictions on air line luggage, this area didn't need so much storage space and so many doors.Only one power outlet in cabin which made life quite complicated keeping batteries charged etc and using hair dryer.Chose this cabin because of its central location and low noise level. Terrible smell of exhaust on arriving and leaving port from air conditioning.

Our outside cabin on the Dolphin deck was at a very good location midway between the forward and midship elevators; it was both quiet and convenient. We found that the cabin had tons of closet and storage space for two people, and we were very pleased. The only thing it lacked was a clock!
