We picked a Central Park view stateroom with a balcony as a change from a ocean view balcony. We really enjoyed it. The cabin was a decent size, not the biggest we've had. Our daughter was with us and when the bed was pulled out for her room was a little cramped. The bed was put back to a couch ever day so was never a problem. Our room Steward kept the cabin spotless and was a super lady. Read entire member review >>
Very clean, up to date décor, plenty of closet space, very comfortable bed! Always clean towels We did not really use balcony much because we were out and about on the ship a lot! Read entire member review >>
The size of the cabin was ideal for my partner and I, this is the first time we booked a balcony, we will never book an inside stateroom again.
It was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the lighting was perfect. Read entire member review >>
Worst cabin ever.
Large almost double sized balcony
- no privacy on balcony
- next to the cabin is a galley kind a area. This is used for cleaning / distributing the room service for this deck. It starts pretty early in the morning with slamming doors, falling plates, loud talking of the staff.
- above this cabin is a jacuzzi. The engine made the walls etc vibrate so even more noise
Park view is fun but more a gimmick to over price these cabins. I prefer a ocean view balcony. Thats why you are on a cruise isnt it? To see and smell the sea Read entire member review >>
We booked the same cabin for our next cruise. This area is perfect for Diamond members since it is just a short walk to the new Diamond Lounge on the same deck. It is nicely located for a view of Central Park. Our cabin had the couch by the balcony door which is what we prefer. Next door has the bed by the balcony door and then back and forth all the way down the hall. The cabin was perfect and our steward was excellent. Read entire member review >>
We were pleased with our cabins (11633 and 11631). We had the partition removed from the balcony so it was like connecting rooms. We had Central Park Balcony - but it was so hot you couldn't use the balcony most days. It was nice to hear the music from below but next time, we'll splurge and get an ocean view so we can get more of a breeze. Read entire member review >>
We had a Central Park Balcony - 11187. It is a great room! We usually don't spring for a balcony since we are value cruisers, but in this case the price difference was very minimal. Plus, it was a unique room since we have never been on Oasis class. It was nice to be able to go out to the balcony on occasion and get air in the room, but I still don't think I spent more than 1 hour out there in total all week. If the price is minimally more, we'd book this cabin again, but we also have no problem being in an inside cabin. The cabin itself was not much different than other ones we've been in with the exception of the balcony. This room has the couch closest to the balcony and the bed closer to the bathroom. Some people have complained about the access to the closet with the bed right there. I agree with the setup causing some issues, but overall it wasn't a big deal. My parents had an oceanview balcony, and they had the bed closer to the balcony door. That is probably a slightly better setup, but I wouldn't fret too much if your cabin is like ours. The only other minor difference from our past cabins seemed to be a lack of a regular nightstand - only 3 or 4 shelves. This worked out fine for us. The bathroom was your normal setup and worked fine as well. Nice to have a shower door and not a curtain. Read entire member review >>
The room was clean. The balcony was nice, especially when we ordered room service. Depending on the time of day, usually noisy from the kids pool above and/or action below in central park. There were crickets, but you could only hear them, when you were on the central park floor, not sure if they were real or not, the sound was sutle! Read entire member review >>
Very clean room. The layout of the room was with the sofa near the balcony and the closet near the bed, which made at times awkward to access the closet...but you make It work. Central Park balcony does face other cabins, so be mindful you have cabins across from you...so stepping out on your balcony in the "buff" should not be an option. Room attendant was the best...Ms. Lovelace was very helpful and nice. If you like to see the ocean from your cabin...this room is not for you. I found it to be very peaceful and quiet. We had room 11229. It has no room on one side next to it, however it is right next to a service station for the staff on the other side. The payoff is, it offers a larger extended deck overlooking central park. You get two chairs and a table, plus two more chairs and a drink table. We would notice the service station being used during the day, so if you sleep in it might bother you. Saturday night, we heard them all night long as they were moving luggage etc. I would get that room again. I very much enjoyed overlooking central park as the noise was minimal and in the evenings, there was jazz in central park and you could sit and listen to it. The room was very clean and nice. I loved the self closing closets and the touch button safe. The bathroom is small but totally adequate with lots of shelves for storage. Hide your luggage under the bed! Make sure you watch the morning rush show with the director. He goes over the entire day explaining all that is going on. Also catch the top ten craziest questions ever asked. Cracked us up! i.e. do these stairs go up or down? or, which elevator takes us to the front of the ship? or, what elevation is the ship at? Ken Rush (director) worked his tail off. He comes across as arrogant and you get tired of his voice by the end. I'm just thankful for him as he did share lots of tips and good info. You're in room TV is really a great way to do everything you need. Book shows, check your balance or watch replays from the previous nights shows. Also, if you are traveling with a group, you call call room to room and leave a message for them. The operator will also patch you through to them if you can't remember their number. She won't give you their room number, but she will transfer you. Make sure you leave your sliding door closed as the heat will warm your room up and it takes a while for the A/C to catch up. We had the beds pushed together to form a queen. You can feel the bar in the middle but it isn't bad. The pillows are comfy and the mattress is not bad. I was very pleased at how dark and quiet the room is. We slept very well every night. We also used a hair clippy to clip the curtains closed as they wanted to stay open just a crack! If you stay in 11229, take care of it, we will be back! Overall, very amazing really. Read entire member review >>
We had a cabin with a balcony that overlooked Central Park...just like we had on the Oasis. The bed seemed bigger this time and was considerably more comfy on this ship!!! It was heaven to sleep in. However, the pillows are either too thin or too thick. The air was perfect temperature, but we had to keep it on the coldest setting to make it that way. The bathroom was perfect and the shower, though small, was easy to move around. The clam-shell design is genius. We never had an issue getting body wash, shampoo or anything else. Our stateroom attendant was wonderful and she provided us with anything we needed and made the coolest animals with the towels. They do have a dock to plug in your iPhone or iPod and listen to the music, but you will have to remove any case or protector for it to fit. My Otter-box was too difficult to take off, so I just brought my own charger and headphones. No problems. Read entire member review >>
Great cabin, fairly quiet. This cabin had pretty small closet. The safe was smaller than the other ships as well. Nice balcony overlooking the central park. Bathroom was good size. This cabin was pretty convenient to the elevators as well. Maybe 15 doors down from the stairs and elevators. Read entire member review >>
Cabins overlooking central park are nice and if you want boardwalk try and get near back of ship as you can see the aqua theater area all the time where something is always happening Read entire member review >>
Our cabin was good. I would have preferred the other "hand" stateroom which was on either side of us that had the bed nearer to the balcony. Our bed just seemed to be in the way. We had five staterooms next to each other and we had them open up the balconies so we could go one to another and it was fantastic. Also, we had them empty the "mini-bar" on day one and used the fridge for our own stuff. Read entire member review >>
We had adjoining rooms 10611 and 10613. Overlooking central park. Nice setup- spacious closet with lots of hangars and cubbies. Balcony was nice and opened up to our adjoining room. They seemed like pretty standard rooms. Would have preferred to be a little closer to the elevator, but it was VERY peaceful overlooking central park. Definitely a quiet location. We had a Central Park Balcony stateroom on the 12th floor and it was great. It was a whole lot bigger than I was expecting. No complaints on any aspect of the room - everything about it was wonderful...
Not sure if the rooms are soundproof - but it was really really quiet - it was great... Read entire member review >>
Closet is right next to the bed and hard to access. Not enough drawers. This cabin was noisy on the balcony because of the noise bounce from the kids area on deck 15, even though this was deck 10. Read entire member review >>
Only one observation - I had cabin 11255 which was at the end of the Central Park balcony rooms. Again our bed was near the closet as it was on Oasis which I feel makes the room feel much smaller. My friend had 11253 and her bed was closest to the balcony. Her room seemed MUCH larger. Vandy by far was the best room steward I have had in all my cruises....and get this.....she actually thanked me for the additional tip I gave her. That was a FIRST for me. Very adequate for shorter voyages.
Well thought out and comfortable.
Safe was too small for all our belongings, could not even get cell phone in without taking off its "holster".
Liked the decent sized closet with more than enough hangers without those annoying trick hangers. Read entire member review >>
Closet space adequate for 7 days - I am not a big packer so there was plenty of room. Our cabin had a double balcony overlooking Central Park (on both ships) so it was really nice watching the people. Location was good - extra walking needed after the eating habits. We were next to the utility closet so at times it was noisy but never during sleeping hours. On deck 10 we were under the pool area which, although loud at times with music, it was not annoying - rather enjoyed it. Read entire member review >>
